除砂旋流器是将液相中所含砂除去的有效设备。含砂流体以一定压力切向进入旋流器后，产生强烈的旋转运动，由于砂与液相之间存在着密度差异，砂及液体所受到的离心力、重力、向心浮力、流体阻力各不相同，大密度的砂沉降至旋流器底部由底流口连续或间断排出，密度低的液体则由溢流管排出，完成砂与液体的分离作业。除砂旋流器的进料压力需根据砂粒的粒度分布，固液体之间的密度差异等来确定。一般情况下进料压力越高，处理能力越大，除砂效果越好。除砂旋流器由于占地面积小，投资少，安装简单，维护方便，除砂效率高等优点，已广泛应用于各行业中。
